Dart and Capture
A tranquilising dart is injected into the animal to safely capture it to transport it elsewhere. Provides life cover for the animal during the procedure due to the increased risk of darting and capture procedures.
Additional Information
Death must take place due to the darting or capture procedure. This will be prior to the movement of the animal. Cover stops as soon as the animal wakes up from being chemically immobilized. During the claims stage, a vet certificate stating the cause of death needs to be provided.
Management Handling

Transit Cover
Provides life cover for the animal during transit. Cover starts when all 4 hooves are on the transporting vehicle and ends when the first hoof is off the transporting vehicle.

The vehicle must be appropriate to transport the animals. At claim stage, vet report stating the cause of death needs to be provided.
ARM (Veld Cover)
Provides life cover for the animal if it dies due to humane euthanasia as a result of accident, injury, illness or disease at the location stated in your policy.

Poaching
Provides life cover for the animal for death or humane euthanasia as a direct result of poaching.
Additional Information
The premises must be fully enclosed by game fencing appropriate for all the species kept on the property to protect against poachers. There must be strict access control to the premises. Animals must be protected by a trained anti poaching unit, unless otherwise agreed.
Predation
Provides life cover for the animal for death or humane euthanasia as a direct result of being hunted by a predator.
Additional Information
The premises must be fully enclosed by game fencing appropriate for all the species kept on the property to prevent predators from entering. Fencing must be regularly checked. During claims stage, a vet certificate stating cause of death would need to be provided.
Fire and Lightning
Provides life cover for the animal for death or humane euthanasia as a direct result of fire or lightning

Storm and Flood
Provides life cover for the animal for death or humane euthanasia as a direct result of storm or flooding

Auction
Cover is selected by the auction house. It provides life cover for the animals sold at their auction for a specified period. Cover could include Darting and Capture, Transit and ARM cover on the field. Cover will be selected for each auction prior to the auction taking place.

This cover is tailor made to suit the client’s insurance requirements. It will differ from auction to auction and is only applicable to animals sold at said auction. During claim stage, a vet certificate stating cause of death would need to be provided.
Buffalo Test Cover
Provides life cover for the animal if death is due to humane euthanasia as a result of medical testing. Covers you for the period of time in which you are darting and testing for diseases in the animal.
Additional Information
A maximum of three darts are included in the Buffalo Test Cover. The first dart to bring the animal into the boma / holding camp, the second dart 3 days later for reading skin results, and the third dart for loading the animal for transportation.
