Travel Foreign Exchange

During the festive season many of us pack our bags and head off to exotic locations. Leaving South Africa behind as we explore the world – if we are lucky enough to do so.

And with all this travel there are certain requirements – from a financial perspective – that need organising before you jet off. Your passport is one crucial document needed not only to travel but to acquire foreign exchange (FX). And the FX – whether it be in cash or card – is something every explorer needs if they plan on spending any money overseas.

  • What’s foreign exchange again?

You will recall our article on foreign exchange where we set out that foreign exchange is “the conversion of one currency into another at a specific rate known as the foreign exchange rate”.

As you can see, South African Rands are not going to help you when you cross borders.

But fret not – we have the solution for you.

We have partnered with the Inter Africa Bureau de Change to bring you a Travel Foreign Exchange product facilitated by Kuda FX. This value-add product is available to all our Kuda FX clients.

For your peace of mind rest assured that Inter Africa is an authorised dealer in foreign exchange and has been in operation since 1999. That’s 24 years’ worth of experience at your disposal. With Kuda FX and Inter Africa you’re in good hands.

Acquiring FX

We know that acquiring your FX can not only be a time-consuming hassle but can also be a little dangerous. So, to better serve our clients Kuda FX is able to deliver your FX to your door. At no extra charge. Always offering you safe, reliable, and secure service.

To save you time and should you prefer to collect your FX in cash, you can do so at any Inter Africa branch at the airport. Killing two birds with one stone kind of exercise.

Don’t want your FX in cash? No problem. We can arrange a cash passport card instead (this passport card cannot be used in South Africa). There are so many options and so many ways that we can be of assistance to you. Simply get in touch with one of our team members for more information.

A note – you may only purchase your foreign exchange 60 days prior to the date of departure. Be sure to diarise accordingly.

If you have returned from your trip with lots of stories to tell – and some FX left over – we can help you there too. You are able to sell back your FX to us. No hassle, no runaround. Just a straight and simple process.

All we will need is exit and entry stamp (located in your passport).

What will I need to acquire FX?

To get you started you will need copies of the following documentation:

  • Air Ticket
  • Proof of Address (not older than 3 months)
  • Your passport
  • Your ID

And that’s that – all your FX travel needs taken care of.

Partnering with an experienced intermediary like Kuda FX is key to making your FX travel needs smooth and hassle-free.

With that, we wish you safe travels during the festive season. May you have a wonderful trip, may you make many memories and may you be blessed with lots of laughter and – of course – fun and relaxation.

If you have any queries on the information we have set out above, please feel free to get in touch with us.

We cannot wait to help you with all your forex needs!
